【摘要】:1.1Thispracticedescribesproceduresforevaluatingthefollowingperformancecharacteristicsofultrasonicpulse-echoexaminationinstrumentsandsystems:HorizontalLimitandLinearity;VerticalLimitandLinearity;Resolution-EntrySurfaceandFarSurface;SensitivityandNoise;AccuracyofCalibratedGainControls.Evaluationofthesecharacteristicsisintendedtobeusedforcomparinginstrumentsandsystemsor,byperiodicrepetition,fordetectinglong-termchangesinthecharacteristicsofagiveninstrumentorsystemthatmaybeindicativeofimpendingfailure,andwhich,ifbeyondcertainlimits,willrequirecorrectivemaintenance.Instrumentcharacteristicsmeasuredinaccordancewiththispracticeareexpressedintermsthatrelatetotheirpotentialusefulnessforultrasonicexaminations.InstrumentcharacteristicsexpressedinpurelyelectronictermsmaybemeasuredasdescribedinE1324.1.2Ultrasonicexaminationsystemsusingpulsed-wavetrainsandA-scanpresentation(rforvideo)maybeevaluated.1.3Theproceduresareapplicabletoshoporfieldconditions;additionalelectronicmeasurementinstrumentationisnotrequired.1.4Thispracticeestablishesnoperformancelimitsforexaminationsystems;ifsuchacceptancecriteriaarerequired,thesemustbespecifiedbytheusingparties.Whereacceptancecriteriaareimpliedhereintheyareforexampleonlyandaresubjecttomoreorlessrestrictivelimitsimposedbycustomer''sandenduser''scontrollingdocuments.1.5Thespecificparameterstobeevaluated,conditionsandfrequencyoftest,andreportdatarequired,mustalsobedeterminedbytheuser.1.6Thispracticemaybeusedfortheevaluationofacompleteexaminationsystem,includingsearchunit,instrument,interconnections,fixturesandconnectedalarmandauxiliarydevices,primarilyincaseswheresuchasystemisusedrepetitivelywithoutchangeorsubstitution.Thispracticeisnotintendedtobeusedasasubstituteforcalibrationorstandardizationofaninstrumentorsystemtoinspectanygivenmaterial.Therearelimitationstotheuseofstandardreferenceblocksforthatpurpose.1.7Requiredtestapparatusincludesselectedtestblocksandaprecisionexternalattenuator(wherespecified)inadditiontotheinstrumentorsystemtobeevaluated.1.8Precautionsrelatingtotheapplicabilityoftheproceduresandinterpretationoftheresultsareincluded.1.9Alternateprocedures,suchasexamplesdescribedinthisdocument,orothers,mayonlybeusedwithcustomerapproval.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
