【摘要】:Thepurposeofthistestmethodistoprovideameasurablecriterionofperformancedefiningthelevelofcutresistancetothecuttingactionofasawchainprovidedbyfootprotectivedevices.Theprotection,whichcanbedemonstratedbythefootprotectivedevices,testedinaccordancewiththistestmethod,isachievedby(1)thematerialresistingcuttingwhenputincontactwiththemovingsawchain;(2)apartofthematerialbeingdrawnintothesawchainanddrivemechanismtoblockthesawchainmovement;(3)thematerialsresistingcuttingandabsorbingrotationalenergysothatsawchainspeedcanbesloweddownsufficientlytostopthemovementofthesawchain;or(4)anycombinationofthese.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresults,whenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldperformcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensfromthesamelotofcomponentstobeevaluated.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbedeterminedandcorrected,orthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinlightoftheknownbias.1.1Thistestmethodmeasurescutresistanceoffootprotectivedevicesthataredesignedtoprotectthefootwhenoperatingachainsaw.1.2Thistestmethodmaybeusedtotestforcompliancetominimumperformancerequirementsinestablishedsafetystandards.1.2.1Byagreementbetweenthepurchaserandthesupplier,orasrequiredbyestablishedsafetystandards,thistestmethodcanbeusedtodetermineanyoneorbothofthefollowing:(1)chainspeed50(CS50),(2)success/failure(jamming/chainstop)atspecifiedchainspeed.1.3Thistestmethodmaybeusedtodeterminelevelsofprotectionforareasofcoverageasstipulatedinestablishedsafetystandards.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Note18212;Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
