【摘要】:ForensicanalysisoffibercolorantsusingTLCshouldbeconsideredforsinglefibercomparisonsonlywhenitisnotpossibletodiscriminatebetweenthefibersofinterestusingothertechniques,suchascomparisonmicroscopy(brightfieldandfluorescence)andmicrospectrophotometryinthevisiblerange.TheextractionprocedurescarriedoutpriortoTLCanalysiscanprovideusefulinformationaboutdyeclassification.TLCcanprovideusefulqualitativeinformationaboutdyecomponents.Similarcolorsmadeupofdifferentdyecomponentscanbedifferentiatedusingthistechnique.TheapplicationofTLCmayservetodiscriminatebetweenfibers,oritmayconfirmtheirsimilarity.TLCmaybeprohibitivelydifficultorundesirableinsomecircumstances.Shortlengthsoffibersorpalecoloredfibersmaynothaveanadequateconcentrationofcolorantpresenttobeexamined,dyeextractionfromsomefibersmaybeimpossible.Thedesiretopreserveevidenceforpossibleanalysisbyanotherexaminermayprecluderemovingthecolorforanalysis.Dyefromtheknownmaterialshouldfirstbecharacterizedandeluentsystemsevaluatedtoachieveoptimumseparationoftheextract.Dyeisthenextractedfromsingleknownandquestionedfibers,usinganequivalentamountofmaterial.ThedevelopmentofeachindividualTLCplatewillshowsomevariabilityasaresultofthecoatingandconditioningoftheplate,solventcondition,andtemperature.ItisimportanttoevaluatetheperformanceofeachTLCplatebyspottingknownmaterialsalongwiththequestionedsamples.SeeRef(16).ExamplesforthepreparationofStandarddyemixturesaregiveninAppendixX1.1.1MetamericcolorationoffiberscanbedetectedusingUV/visiblespectrophotometry.Ifspectrophotometryisrestrictedtothevisiblespectralrangeonly,differencesindyecomponentsmayremainundetected.Onemethodofdetectingadditionalcomponentsistousethin-layerchromatography(TLC).TLCisaninexpensive,simple,well-documentedtechniquethat,undercertainconditions,canbeusedtocomplementtheuseofvisiblespectroscopyincomparisonsoffibercolorants.Theprincipleofthemethodisthatthedyecomponentsareseparatedbytheirdifferentialmigrationcausedbyamobilephaseflowingthroughaporous,adsorptivemedium.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.

【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiestestmethodsforthedeterminationoftheoverallmigrationintofattyfoodsimulantsfromplasticsmaterialsandarticles,bytotalimmersionoftestspecimensinafattyfoodsimulantatanytemperaturesabove5°Cuptoandincluding175°Cforselectedtimes.WhensomeplasticsaretestedbythemethodsinEN1186-2,EN1186-4,EN1186-6,EN1186-8,prEN1186-12andEN1186-13,thesoxhletextractionprocessdoesnotachievecompleterecoveryoftheabsorbedoliveoilfromthetestspecimens.Inthismethod,theoliveoilisreleasedfromtheplasticstestspecimensbydissolvingtheminchloroform,toluene,xyleneortetrahydrofuran.ThismethodissuitableforplasticswhenexposuretooliveoilisbytotalimmersionasdescribedinEN1186-2,inacell,asdescribedinEN1186-4,inapouch,asdescribedinEN1186-6,andbyfilling,asdescribedinEN1186-8andtotestscarriedoutatlowandhightemperature,asdescribedinprEN1186-12andEN1186-13.Thisisprovidedtheplasticsaresolubleinchloroform,toluene,xyleneortetrahydrofuranandinsolubleinmethanolandthatwheneverprEN1186-2isreferredtointhismethodtheappropriateclauseoftherelevantpartofEN1186issubstituted.Themethodcanalsobesuitableforplasticswhichareonlypartiallysolubleinchloroform,toluene,xyleneortetrahydrofuranandinsolubleinmethanol.NOTE1Thistestmethodhasbeenwrittenforusewiththefattyfoodsimulant,oliveoil.Thetestmethodcanalsobeusedwithappropriatemodificationswith'otherfattyfoodsimulants'calledsimulantD-asyntheticmixtureoftriglycerides,sunfloweroilandcornoil.Theseotherfattyfoodsimulantswillproducedifferentchromatogramsforthesimulantmethylesterstothoseofthemethylestersofoliveoil.Selectsuitablechromatogrampeaksofthemethylestersoftheotherfattyfoodsimulantsforthequantitativedeterminationofthesimulantextractedfromthetestspecimens.NOTE2IfithasbeenestablishedthattheoverallmigrationintooliveoilfromtheplasticscannotbedeterminedbyuseofeitherthismethodorthemethodsdescribedinEN1186-2,EN1186-4,EN1186-6andEN1186-8thentheuseofsubstitutetestsshouldbeconsidered,seeclause6ofEN1186-1:2001.
