【摘要】:ThispartofISO14855specifiesamethodforthedeterminationoftheultimateaerobicbiodegradabilityofplastics,basedonorganiccompounds,undercontrolledcompostingconditionsbymeasurementoftheamountofcarbondioxideevluedandthedegreeofdisintegrationoftheplasticattheendofthetest.Thismethodisdesignedtosimulatetypicalaerobiccompostingconditionsfortheorganicfractionofsolidmixedmunicipalwaste.Thetestmaterialisexposedtoaninoculumwhichisderivedfromcompost.Thecompostingtakesplaceinanenvironmentwhereintemperature,aerationandhumidityarecloselymonitoredandcontrolled.Thetestmethodisdesignedtoyieldthepercentageconversionofthecarboninthetestmaterialtoevolvedcarbondioxideaswellastherateofconversion.Subclauses8.6and8.7specifyavariantofthemethod,usingamineralbed(bermiculite)inoculatedwiththermophilicmicroorganismsobtainedfromcompostwithaspecificactivationphase,insteadofmaturecompost.Thiscariantisdesignedtoyieldthepercentageofcarboninthetestsubstanceconvertedtocarbondioxideandtherateofconversion.TheconditionsdescribedinthispartofISO14855maynotalwayscorrespondtotheoptimumconditionsforthemaximumdegreeofbigdegradationtooccur.
