【摘要】:ThisTechnicalReportidentifiestestmethodsalreadyinexistenceandprovidesguidanceonthosethatneedtobedevelopedtocharacterizethethermo-physicalandmechanicalpropertiesofstructuralmaterialsatelevatedtemperaturesforuseinfiresafetyengineeringcalculations.Itisapplicabletomaterialsusedinload-bearingconstructioninwhichstructuralandthermalcalculationsmightberequiredtoassesstheperformanceofelementsorsystemsexposedtoeitherstandardfiretests,realordesignfireheatingconditions.Itisrecognizedthattheelevatedtemperaturepropertiesofmaterialscanbedeterminedunderavarietyofconditions.Sincefireisarelativelyshorttransientprocesslastingfromafewminutestoseveralhours,ideally,thepropertiesdeterminedshouldreflectthetransientthermalandloadingconditionsaswellasthedurationofheatingthatmaybeexperiencedinpractice.However,itisalsorecognizedthatsomepropertiesarerelativelyinsensitivetothetransientconditionsandtherefore,alternativesteadystatetestmethodsmaybeappropriate.Somepropertiesaresensitivetoorientationeffects,forexampletimber,andtheseshouldbeconsideredwithrespecttohowthetestsareconducted.Incaseswherematerialsundergoeitherachemicaloraphysicalreactionduringtheheatingprocess,itmightbeimpossibletodetermineanindividualproperty.ThisTechnicalReportgivesguidanceinselectingatestmethodtodetermineaneffectivevaluerepresentingacombinationofproperties.Itisalsorecognizedthatatestspecimenmaybecomprisedofasmallconstructionsuchasthatusedinthetestingofmasonry.Thisofteninvolvesbuildingaminiassemblytoformapyramidinordertorepresentthetruebehaviour.Apartfromthetraditionalconstructionmaterialssuchasmetals,concrete,masonryandwood,theuseofplasticsandfibrereinforcementisbecomingmorecommon.ThereforethesematerialshavealsobeenincludedinthisTechnicalReporttoreflectpossiblefuturechangesindesignandadvancesinmaterialstechnology.Inthepast,thebehaviourofjointingsystemsinfirehasonlyreceivedalittleinterestyettheirbehaviourisfundamentaltotheperformanceofcompositeelementsandstructuralframes.ThisTechnicalReportalsoaddressesjointingsystemsunderindividualmaterials,forexampleweldsforsteel,gluesfortimber.However,inmanycases,theenduseofanadhesiveisnotclearoritcoversarangeofapplications.Forthisreasonaseparatecategoryforadhesivesisincluded.Forsomematerials,ithasnotbeenpossibletoidentifyanexistingstandardorlaboratoryprocedureforconductingtestsatelevatedtemperaturesundereithersteadystateortransientheatingconditions.Inthesecases,standardsforconductingtestsatambienttemperatureareidentified.Thesemaybeconsideredtoformthebasisfordevelopmentintoatestmethodsuitableatelevatedtemperatures.Baseduponcurrentfiredesignmethodologiesandthosethatarebeginningtoreceiveattention,Table1andTable2summarizetherequirementsandavailabilityoftestmethodsformeasuringthethermalandmechanicalpropertiesconsideredtohaveanimmediatepriority.NOTEForcompositeconcreteandsteelstructuresthematerialpropertiesrequiredareaddressedundereachindividualmaterial.

【摘要】:ThisTechnicalReportidentifiestestmethodsalreadyinexistenceandprovidesguidanceonthosethatneedtobedevelopedtocharacterizethethermo-physicalandmechanicalpropertiesofstructuralmaterialsatelevatedtemperaturesforuseinfiresafetyengineeringcalculations.Itisapplicabletomaterialsusedinload-bearingconstructioninwhichstructuralandthermalcalculationsmightberequiredtoassesstheperformanceofelementsorsystemsexposedtoeitherstandardfiretests,realordesignfireheatingconditions.Itisrecognizedthattheelevatedtemperaturepropertiesofmaterialscanbedeterminedunderavarietyofconditions.Sincefireisarelativelyshorttransientprocesslastingfromafewminutestoseveralhours,ideally,thepropertiesdeterminedshouldreflectthetransientthermalandloadingconditionsaswellasthedurationofheatingthatmaybeexperiencedinpractice.However,itisalsorecognizedthatsomepropertiesarerelativelyinsensitivetothetransientconditionsandtherefore,alternativesteadystatetestmethodsmaybeappropriate.Somepropertiesaresensitivetoorientationeffects,forexampletimber,andtheseshouldbeconsideredwithrespecttohowthetestsareconducted.Incaseswherematerialsundergoeitherachemicaloraphysicalreactionduringtheheatingprocess,itmightbeimpossibletodetermineanindividualproperty.ThisTechnicalReportgivesguidanceinselectingatestmethodtodetermineaneffectivevaluerepresentingacombinationofproperties.Itisalsorecognizedthatatestspecimenmaybecomprisedofasmallconstructionsuchasthatusedinthetestingofmasonry.Thisofteninvolvesbuildingaminiassemblytoformapyramidinordertorepresentthetruebehaviour.Apartfromthetraditionalconstructionmaterialssuchasmetals,concrete,masonryandwood,theuseofplasticsandfibrereinforcementisbecomingmorecommon.ThereforethesematerialshavealsobeenincludedinthisTechnicalReporttoreflectpossiblefuturechangesindesignandadvancesinmaterialstechnology.Inthepast,thebehaviourofjointingsystemsinfirehasonlyreceivedalittleinterestyettheirbehaviourisfundamentaltotheperformanceofcompositeelementsandstructuralframes.ThisTechnicalReportalsoaddressesjointingsystemsunderindividualmaterials,forexampleweldsforsteel,gluesfortimber.However,inmanycases,theenduseofanadhesiveisnotclearoritcoversarangeofapplications.Forthisreasonaseparatecategoryforadhesivesisincluded.Forsomematerials,ithasnotbeenpossibletoidentifyanexistingstandardorlaboratoryprocedureforconductingtestsatelevatedtemperaturesundereithersteadystateortransientheatingconditions.Inthesecases,standardsforconductingtestsatambienttemperatureareidentified.Thesemaybeconsideredtoformthebasisfordevelopmentintoatestmethodsuitableatelevatedtemperatures.Baseduponcurrentfiredesignmethodologiesandthosethatarebeginningtoreceiveattention,Table1andTable2summarizetherequirementsandavailabilityoftestmethodsformeasuringthethermalandmechanicalpropertiesconsideredtohaveanimmediatepriority.NOTEForcompositeconcreteandsteelstructuresthematerialpropertiesrequiredareaddressedundereachindividualmaterial.
